About Ethembeni School

Ethembeni High School, often referred to as "The Foundation of Hope," is a thriving educational institution situated in the rural outskirts of Manzini, Eswatini, in an area called Ethembeni. Established in 2010, the school has become a pillar of hope and opportunity for the local community. Its name, Ethembeni, which translates to "place of hope," reflects its mission of inspiring learners and contributing to the development of the area.

The school opened its doors on March 31, 2010, under the guidance of its first Principal, Mr. A. Dlamini. Mr. Dlamini, along with a team of only two teachers, laid the foundation for what has now become a thriving institution. During its inaugural year, Ethembeni High School welcomed 37 Form 1 learners and 30 Form 2 learners, a modest beginning that marked the start of an inspiring journey.

As a government-aided community school, Ethembeni High School has benefited from the support of the Microprojects Programme, which has been instrumental in ensuring the institution’s growth and sustainability. The school is situated within the Gundvwini chiefdom and falls under the Mtfongwaneni Inkhundla, further embedding it within the heart of the local community. These ties have fostered a strong sense of collaboration and mutual support between the school and its surrounding stakeholders.
